Marc Drillon

Marc Drillon

Marc Drillon is Director of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials at University Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, involving more than 200 researchers, engineers and PhD students in the field of functional materials and nanosciences. He has received awards from CNRS, French Chemical Society and French Academy of Science. His is interested in magnetic materials on the correlations between structure and properties, by focusing more specifically on low dimensional architectures isolated in molecule-based or inorganic magnets. In the last few years, he has been strongly involved in the design and study of new hybrid organic-inorganic materials, exhibiting very long range ferromagnetism, and the self organisation of magnetic clusters on surfaces. In these fields, he has published more than 200 research papers, given 150 lectures, and he is editor of a series of five books on magnetism (Ed. Plenum Press and Wiley VCH). Finally, Marc Drillon is member of different national committee, and chair the national committee (CNRS) in solid state chemistry.
