Juhani Luotola

Juhani Luotola is Technology Manager at R&D in Orion Diagnostica Oy.  
Orion Diagnostica Oy is part of Orion Group. Orion Corporation is a Finnish stock exchange company, which develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients and diagnostic tests for global markets.  
After graduating in cell biology, biochemistry, chemistry and statistics from University of Jyväskylä 1980  Juhani has over 26 years experience in IVD industry area, especially on the field of biomedical polymeric nanoparticle and analyser instrumentation developments.  Before joining Orion Diagnostica Oy in 1989 he held several positions both in academia (Electron Microscopy Laboratory at University of Turku,   Department of Medical Genetics of University of Helsinki,  Jet Propulsion Laboratory / Caltech, Pasadena, USA,  Yale University, New Haven, USA,  VTT, Laboratory for Medical Instrumentation, Tampere) and in industry (Oy Medica Ab, Helsinki,  Labsystems Oy, Helsinki,  Applied Diagnostic Corporation, Helsinki).
Juhani has contribution to several scientific papers and 17 patents or patent applications as inventor. He is also both Helsinki region board member of National Graduate School of Nanosciences and Member of the Advisory Board of Center for New Materials at Helsinki University of Technology.
