Hesaam Esfandyarpour

Hesaam Esfandyarpour was born in April 6, 1982 in Sirjan, IRAN. He obtained B.S. (with honors) (’04) from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, IRAN. He has joined Stanford in 2004 where he got M.S. (’06) degree in Electrical Engineering and he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, CA, USA. In 2000, He entered Sharif University after he got the third rank among more than 400,000 participants around the nation in University National Entrance Examination and he was admitted for a direct PhD degree in Biotechnology or BSc in EE respectively in Tehran and Sharif Universities where he chose the later one. In 2001 he founded the professional robotic team of Sharif University for RoboDeminer02, the International Robotic Competition, where he served as the leader and their effort leads to Int’l Silver Medal Award in Robotics among 118 teams around the world; in addition to the United Nations Certificate of Merit from the UN resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative, F.M. Bastagli. In the past he has served as President and CEO of SimorghAva, Inc., an ISP and computer network company which he co-founded in year 2002. He has several publications and is inventor or co-inventor of a number of patents/pending related to DNA sequencing and pathogen detection technologies.
