Elmar Keßenich

After his University education at the Universities of Bonn and Munich,  Elmar Keßenich graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich in 1998. In 2001 he completed his PhD in inorganic chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in the group of Prof. Thomas Klapötke on “Halogen and Pseudohalogen Chemistry”.
He started his Professional Career in 2001 at BASF Aktiengesellschaft, where he worked in the field of photopolymer printing plates.
2005 he joined BASFs polymer physics department and since then he is responisble for the  coordination of nanotechnology issue (public research programmes (FP7, national programmes), environmental health and safety projects, scouting, external contacts). Next to his responsibilities in the field of nanotechnology he is an active member in the European Technology Platform Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem) and coordinator of the Materials Technology group in ETP SusChem.
