Product Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific
UK

Dr Tim Nunney is product manager for the Thermo Scientific K-Alpha XPS instrument. He is responsible for the application support, sales and marketing of the K-Alpha system. K-Alpha is a next-generation X-ray photoelectron spectrometer, designed for fast, accurate chemical analysis of the top few nanometres of solid surfaces. Since launch in 2006 it has proven to be one of the market leading choices for surface analysis instrumentation.

Tim has over 15 years of surface analysis experience. He obtained his PhD from the Surface Science Research Centre at the University of Liverpool, working in the group of Professor Rasmita Raval. Following a position as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, working for Professor Brian Hayden, Tim joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2004. He was involved with the Thermo Scientific K-Alpha from launch in 2006, and became product manager in 2008.
