Pieter de Witte Pieter de Witte
Industrial Partnership Programme, Physics Foundation FOM
Netherlands

Pieter de Witte obtained his PhD in supramolecular chemistry from Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, in 2004. He was a post-doctoral researcher at ISIS institute of Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France, after which he became programme officer for the Dutch national nanotechnology programme NanoNed, at Technology Foundation STW in the Netherlands.

He currently works for physics foundation FOM in the Netherlands and coordinates the Industrial Partnership Programme (IPP). The IPP is aimed at using the excellent scientific quality of physics research in the Netherlands to tackle fundamental industrial research problems. With FOM and the industrial partner(s) jointly funding the IPP, this concept has been very succesful in the Netherlands with companies like Philips, Shell, ASML, DSM, AkzoNobel and FOM welcomes partnerships with European companies.

Pieter's interests lie in public-private partnerships, contract research, and knowledge brokerage.
