Jenke
Scientist and Project Manager, Empa Switzerland |
Martin Jenke is a scientist and project manager at the Laboratory for Mechanics of Materials and Nanostructures at the Swiss Federal Institute of Materials Testing and Research (EMPA). He got his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL) in 2008 for the investigation of nano-electrostatic force fields using a novel AFM method, which he developed.
During his PhD he used local gas assisted focused ion beam deposition and etching, for the fabrication of nano-size electrodes. Since mid 2008 he has been concentrating onto gas assisted focused electron / ion beam deposition / etching methods and SEM based nanomanipulation. He is currently interested in the improvement of the methods (or the hardware / software of the machines), their combination with different “top down” and “bottom up” fabrication methods and their fundamental understanding in order to obtain novel industrial or research applications or machines.
Key Skills: FIB and FEB Investigation / Fabrication Methods, Cleanroom Micro- and Nanofabrication, Surface Investigation / Characterization Methods, Microfluidics, Chemical Surface Modification
