Application Scientist, JPK Instruments AG Germany |
Joost van Mameren studied physics at VU University in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. After that he pursued a PhD project in the Physics of Complex Systems group at the same university, advised by Dr. Erwin Peterman and Dr. Gijs Wuite. His project in the field of single-molecule biophysics focused at the concurrent application of on the one hand optical tweezers technology for mechanical manipulation of single DNA molecules, and on the other single-molecule fluorescence visualization of proteins or dyes binding to the DNA. After obtaining his PhD, he joined JPK Instruments in Berlin as an application scientist for the new JPK NanoTracker™ optical tweezers platform.
