Björn Lüssem Björn Lüssem
Group leader, Institut of Apllied Photophysics, TU Dresden
Germany

Juni 2008 until now: group leader "Organic Light Emitting Diodes" at the Institut of Apllied Photophysics, TU Dresden (Prof. Leo)
2006-2008 Scientist at the Materials Science Laboratory of Sony in Stuttgart
2003-2006 PhD studies at the Institute of Solid State Research at the Research Centre Jülich, Germany (Prof. Waser). Title of my thesis "Molecular Electronic Building Blocks Based on Self Assembled Monolayers "
1998-2003 Studies of electrical engineering at the University of Aachen, Germany.

Björn Lüssem studied electrical engineering at the RWTH-Aachen and the University of Bath and obtained his degree as Diplom-Ingenieur in 2003. He prepared his PhD thesis at the Research Center in Jülich, Germany in the field of molecular electronics. His thesis concentrates on Scanning- Tunnelling Microscopy of pure and mixed selfassembled monolayers and has been awarded the VDE-Promotionspreis and the Günther-Leibfried-Preis. After staying at the Materials Science Laboratory of Sony in Stuttgart from 2006-2008, he joined Prof. Leo’s group at the TU Dresden, where he is now head of the Organic Light Emitting Diodes group. His main interests are new semi-conducting devices based on organic materials and their differences or similarities to inorganic semiconductors.
