Janez Potocnik
Janez Potocnik is the European Commissioner for Science and Research. He was formerly Minister of European Affairs for Slovenia, and has a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Ljubljana. Mr Potocnik gave the opening address at NTNE 2005.

Alan Heeger
Alan Heeger is a Professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and won the Nobel Chemistry Prize in 2000 for 'the discovery and development of conductive polymers'. Dr Heeger gave a presentation entitled 'Plastic Electronics and Optoelectronics' at NTNE 2005.

Sumio Iijima
Sumio Iijima is a Senior Research Fellow at NEC Corporation. He is credited with the discovery of the carbon nanotube in 1991, which has seen him awarded with, amongst other prizes, the 2001 Franklin medal in Physics. Sumio Iijima spoke at NTNE 2006, and gave a talk entitled ‘Nanotechnology and Nanocarbon Materials’.

Bob Iannucci
Bob Iannucci is a Senior Vice-President and head of the Nokia Research Center, which is responsible for Nokia’s strategic and long-term research. Bob Iannucci spoke at NTNE 2006, and gave a presentation entitled ‘Future Trends of Mobile Devices and the Role of Nanotechnology’.

Timo Kekkonen
Timo Kekkonen is the Executive Director of SITRA’s Innovation Program, and is Chairman of the Board of Tekes, the Finnish National Technology Agency. Mr Kekkonen gave the opening address at the FinNano Annual Seminar, which took place as part NTNE 2006.
