Nanotechnology in Finland: 2nd FinNano Annual Seminar

National strategy with international partnerships

The second Annual Seminar of the FinNano programme is held on 27 March 2007 at the Helsinki Fair Centre, in connection with Nanotech Northern Europe 2007 and ChemBio Finland 07. The FinNano Seminar Program is also available to download. The number of Finnish companies actively utilising nanotechnology has more than doubled in just two years after the launch of the national FinNano programme. The seminar provides an overview of the national strategy and introduces a number of interesting research projects and innovative companies.

Admission to the seminar is free of charge but pre-registration is required! Register by 16 March on the FinNano website

ORAL PRESENTATIONS - Three parallel sessions (partnering program)

Call for abstracts still open  - NEW DEADLINE 6/3:
With the opening of EU FP7, finding the right consortium partners is currently a pressing topic. In the parallel sessions both Finnish and international organisations will give short oral presentations (10-15 min) describing their research, recent results and future perspectives, including projects that they would like to find partners for. The topics of the sessions are given in the program above. The sessions are open to both Finnish and international organisations and companies.

Who should present?
Finnish researchers and companies should present their work, capabilities and future plans. International organisations who are interested to find partners from Finland shoud present their capabilities and describe areas in which they are looking for partners. FinNano projects are in particular encouraged to participate .

How to apply?
Option 1:  Send a short abstract by 6 March to programme coordinator  laura.juvonen@spinverse.com  (subject: FinNano / Oral presentation) describing your research and future perspectives (incl. what sort of partners you are looking for).

Option 2: For Nanotech Northern Europe 2007 Congress participants: you may use the NTNE2007 partnering program online form (choose option FinNano). Note that the form is titled "reserve a partnering stand" because the NTNE2007 partnering program uses poster stands. However, the FinNano option is for oral presentations.

POSTER SESSION - Call for abstracts open - DEADLINE 6/3
:
Poster session is held during the FinNano seminar lunch break at 12:30-13:30 in the exhibition hall. Call for papers for the poster session is now open. FinNano projects in particular are encouraged to bring a poster. This should introduce the project, best results and future aspects. Send your abstract by 6 March to programme coordinator laura.juvonen@spinverse.com
(subject: FinNano / Poster)

REGISTRATION: www.tekes.fi/finnano and click 'Register'
The seminar is free of charge but registration is required by 16 March 2007.

NOTE: FinNano seminar registration includes an access to NTNE2007 and ChemBio exhibitions. Participation in NTNE2007 Congress or ChemBio conferences requires separate registration. For more information: visit www.nanotech.net or www.chembiofinland.fi
