Jouko Korppi-Tommola

Professor Jouko Korppi-Tommola, born 1945 in Turku Finland.

Defended his Ph.D. Thesis at the University of Helsinki, Post-Doctoral Fellow in Canada at Queen's University and at National Research Council total four years, assistant professor of physical chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä 1980, full professor of physical chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä since 1994, Chairman of the directory board of the Nanoscience Center of the University of Jyväskylä since 2005.

Research Interests: functional nanoparticles, 3rd generation solar cells and flexible displays, femtochemistry and - biology, laser induced plasma spectroscopy and its application

Author of about 100scientific papers, supervisor of seven Ph.D. degrees

International activities: board member in three ESF research networking programs on ultrafast phenomena since 1995, user representative of the advisory board of LASERLAB-Europe since 2005, organizer of several international workshops, Chairman of the Jyväskylä Summer School 1996-2000.

Memberships: Finnish Chemical, Physical and Optical Societies, EPS, Finnish Academy of Science and Letters
