NTNE 2006 includes a number of joining workshops and seminars, in addition to the congress key theme sessions, that focus on selected topics for different target audiences.

Time: 16 May 2006
Nanotech Venture Forum session starts with a panel session, where leading VCs and area experts discuss nanotechnology impact, winning business models and timeframes. After the panel eight innovative early-stage companies will introduce their business plans providing both interesting case-studies and investment opportunities. More information:

IRC Partnering Event
Time: 17-18 May 2006
Network of Innovation relay Centres consists of 71 organizations including all EU member states. This international partnering event is arranged in connection with NTNE 2006 by IRC Finland in co-operation with the Innovation Relay Center network.This partnering event is the perfect opportunity for companies and research institutes to find technology partners across Europe.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE AND PROMOTE YOUR TECHNOLOGIES:
- Register and submit your technology profile online at http://nano.irc.cordis.lu
- These profiles are published online and constantly updated on an online catalogue
- Request meetings with organisations whose profile interests you
- If confirmed, a focused 30 minute meeting will be scheduled
- Meeting schedules will be sent out to delegates
Partnering event deadlines:

24th April 2006: Online registration and submission of profiles must be completed by this date.
- 5th May 2006: Request appointments with profiles of interest as advertised in catalogue by this date.
- 10th May 2006: Confirmation of individual meeting schedules

NAoMITEC Brokerage Event

NAoMITEC is an European project co-funded by the European Commission aimed at increasing participation of SMEs within the 6th and 7th Framework Programmes. The project is carried out by 16 partners from across Europe and Israel. NAoMITEC arranges a brokerage event in connection with NTNE2006. Interested SMEs are invited to shortly present their activities and how they would contribute in EU-projects as partners. Coordinators of FP6 IP and NoE projects are invited to present their projects. Information is given on nanotechnology related Technology Platforms and how SMEs can participate in the work. FinNano is a 70 million eur Nanotechnology Programme (2005-2009), funded by Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation.
"Nanotechnology in Finland - From Industry Vision to Enabling Technologies" seminar gives an up-to-date vision of Finnish nanotechnology research and industrial perspectives for an international audience. Parallel sessions and posters introduce on-going research and company r&d projects.

IMAPS Advanced Technology Workshop
Nanoelectronics Packaging
Time: 17 May 2006, 9:00-12:00 (see NTNE2006 Congress Program - Day 2)
IMAPS, International Microelectronics And Packaging Society, is a non-profit society for companies and institutions involved in electronics packaging and production. Advanced technology workshop (ATW) is arranged as an integrated part of the NTNE 2006 congress.
The workshop brings people from research and industry together to display and discuss specific opportunities offered by Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials for solving Microelectronics' packaging and interconnect problems and needs. Simultaneously same workshop works on resolving the delicate challenges of getting Nanoelectronics interconnected with Microelectronics and the hardware where it is integrated. Packaging and Interconnects issues are not limited to enable functionality but need to assure fault free functionality in different environments for the time span envisioned.
The workshop is arranged as an integrated part of NTNE2006 Congress.
