Nanotechnology in Northern Europe Congress and Exhibition was arranged for the first time in April 2005. The congress collected over 350 experts, scientists, entrepreneurs and investors to Helsinki. The congress was opened by European Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potocnik and keynote speaker was Nobel Laureate Professor Alan J. Heeger.

NTNE 2006 congress continues to build on the strong foundation created by the first event. Selected key themes create a profound scientific discussion that extends to industrial applications and commercialisation issues.
