Nanotechnology for Next Generation Information Device Technology

Session: Carbon nanomaterials for nanoelectronics 2
Starts at: 16:00
Speaker:
Jong Min Kim
Samsung Fellow, Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology
Nanotechnology for Next Generation Information Device Technology

First, this work will cover potentials of carbon nano tubes (CNTs) implementation for the next generation information devices such as displays including CNT based displays, CNT- backlighting unit (BLU) for liquid crystal display (LCD), and CNT mixed nano inorganic electroluminescent and flexible displays. This also will show imaging systems using CNT based THz wave generating source, and next generation new memory devices using CNTs

Secondly, the new concept of printable TFTs and transparent flexible electrode mixed with CNTs will be introduced and the feasibility study of future display application such s LCD, OLED, and
flexible displays will be discussed.

Finally, the new nano emissive materials such as quantum dot (QD) will be introduced for the new emissive mode display application, and nano structured materials and their potentials for the flexible and reflective mode displays with ultra low power consumption will be reported.
